As per my note above, I was a little disappointed by the replacement / changed accommodation in Luang Prabang due predominantly a lack of a swimming pool and not great bar / restaurant. By contrast the Champasak River Resort was exceptional and I loved it. Siem Reap Wat Bo Residence was a gem of a find.

The hotels chosen were a mix of large chain hotels in the big cities ( Sofitel/Hilton) and boutique hotels. All were excellent. We had a number of upgrades, which was fab.

Well done Charlotte for suggesting that we stay in town at Hoi An and not at the beach because the weather could be iffy in January, and it was! Also good suggestion to tweak the itinerary so that we could be in Hoi An for the full moon lantern festival. It wasn't her fault that rain meant that it didn't happen!!
