We really liked the accommodation chosen in most locations. The accommodation on the Bassac and Bhaya cruises exceeded our expectations. Both were very comfortable and refined. We didn't like the Majestic Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City. The rooms - and particularly the bathrooms - felt tired. The first room we were checked into had a bad damp smell and was right beside the dining room where there was a karaoke party going on until late. We moved to another room which smelt better but still felt a bit old and tired. The pool was disappointing because it was so enclosed. The spa felt tired and not particularly luxurious.

Bad A/C which took two days to fix

All the accommodation was very comfortable. Each hotel was well situated for exploring the local area.

The hotels were excellent, the exception being Pha Xang at Nong Khiaw where the setting was stunning, but the soundproofing of the bungalows left a bit to be desired! Staff were delightful, rooms were well proportioned and nicely furnished and beds were all very comfortable. We loved the presentation and variety of the hotel breakfasts (although the breakfast experience at the Medallion Hanoi and Pha Xang in Non Khiaw was of a lower standard than the other hotels)

The Anantara at Hoi an has poor rooms. They have no aspect. The opposite end to entry is entirely taken up with the WC/bathroom therefore, there is no window (making the room dark) and no balcony. Also, too much noise transmits from the rooms above and to the side.The Chen Sea villa, Phu Quoc, was eclectic to say the least. The restaurant cuisine there was v unexciting and should have been far better.The Metropole, Hanoi was generally a far too cold hotel (the common parts et al) especially the room (the air conditioning thermostat was incorrect) and generally a fine hotel that has lost the ability to focus on the details 9something that is critical for hotels).The Caravlle in Saigon was by far the best hotel and one of the best we have ever stayed at (and we say that as extensive travellers + hotel stayers).

All the hotels were of a very good standard and the service was impeccable

Loved the little touches at the hotels--gifts on the bed, terrific breakfasts!

The hotel in Sapa needs to improve some of its services - especially regarding bathroom cleanliness
